Job: Alexander Nash Fellowship in Albanian Studies, UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies‏

The UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies invites applications for the post of
Alexander Nash Fellowship in Albanian Studies (ref: 1234146)
Duties and Responsibilities
The Alexander Nash Fellow will undertake a two-year programme of research in one of the following disciplines, or at the interface of these disciplines: anthropology, cultural studies, economics, history, international relations, linguistics and literature, political science, sociology.



The Fellow will in addition develop teaching experience by contributing to SSEES programmes at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels for up to 6 hours per week over 20 weeks per academic year. As a member of the Centre for South-East European Studies, the Fellow will contribute to seminar and conference programmes, as well as to the broad research agenda of the Centre.



The post is funded for 2 years in the first instance from 1 September 2012 - 31 August 2014.

Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have a doctorate in a relevant discipline (see above) and will submit a high quality research project proposal on an Albanian topic that builds on their research expertise and meets the aims of the Alexander Nash Fellowship. Preference will be given to specialists in the contemporary period. Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, in additional to proficiency in the Albanian language are essential requirements. Previous experience in teaching and teamwork will be an advantage.
