Summer School: Discover Bosnia 2012 (Aegis Students, UK) 4-20 July 2012‏

Aegis Students, UK’s leading genocide prevention student group is coordinating summer educational trips to Bosnia in partnership with the ICTY. We are currently taking applications from those interested. Please contact richard.newell@aegisstudents.org<mailto:richard.newell@aegisstudents.org> if this is something you would be interested in applying for or promoting to your students.

The trip lasts from 4th July until the 20th – beginning and ending in Zagreb (to which flights must be booked) the purpose of the programme is to teach genocide prevention within the Bosnian context. It is a multi-disciplinary exercise suitable for professionals, academics, PhD students, Masters Students, even Undergrads. We spend time speaking with a whole range of Bosnian and international NGOs from all communities, the OHR, OSCE, the war-crimes division of the court of BiH as well as sessions with the ICTY Outreach Office. Our focus is on how Bosnia’s future can be helped, secured and aided. We also spend time visiting sites across Bosnia from Foca to Prijedor and focus on the stories of survivors and victims. Time is also taken out to sample Bosnian culture and participate in more ‘fun’ activities. For much more detailed information on the programme as well as costs and the application process, please email the above address.
