Internship: at the German Marshall Fund Location: Warsaw, Poland DL: Various


The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) is a non-partisan American public policy and grantmaking institution dedicated to promoting better understanding and cooperation between North America and Europe on transatlantic and global issues.

Job Summary:

The Warsaw office will work on a host of transatlantic, European, Central European, and Eastern Neighborhood issues through convening, research and analysis, and networking, often in close cooperation with GMF’s Washington headquarters and other offices and representations in Europe.

The German Marshall Fund of the United States is looking for a highly motivated full time, Intern for its newly established office in Warsaw, Poland. This position involves working in an intensive and highly entrepreneurial environment that requires both individual initiative and close cooperation with the GMF staff in other European GMF offices.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Conducting research;
Assisting with event planning logistics;
Maintaining database; and
Providing support on administrative tasks.



Qualifications and Requirements:
Strong interest in and working knowledge of European and transatlantic policy issues with Central European regional dimension
Strong candidates will be Master’s Degree students in international relations, political science, or economics
Fluency in English and Polish required. Knowledge of one or more European languages highly desired
Excellent writing, communication and research skills required
Self-starter with the ability to meet rapid, multiple deadlines in a fast-paced international team orientated environment
Flexibility to handle diverse administrative tasks
Time commitment of approximately 30-40 hours a week.

Start and Length of Internship:

Preferred starting date: ASAP

Preferred length of internship: A minimum of 3 months (preferably 6 months) full- time (M-F 9-5 PM)

Pay rate: Modest Stipend
