The Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg will award 3 to 5 Alfried Krupp Senior Fellowships and 6 to 10 Alfried Krupp Junior Fellowships for the academic year 2013/14.
The Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg is an independent academic institution in the centre of the venerable Hanseatic and university city on the Baltic Sea. Together with the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald, the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung established it in order to enhance the excellence of the University.
Academics who have proven themselves by outstanding research and teaching may apply for an Alfried Krupp Senior Fellowship. The Alfried Krupp Junior Fellowships are awarded to particularly qualified young academics with doctorates.
The Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg enables the fellows to concentrate on a major scientific or scholarly project, free of extensive teaching duties. The Institute also offers the opportunity to discuss their discipline with colleagues and students at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-University of Greifswald. Alfried Krupp Fellows are expected to co-operate with colleagues form the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald. Applicants should attach a research proposal and up to five publications relevant to their project.
Fellows are appointed either for a semester (October 1 to March 31 or April 1 to September 30) or for a whole academic year (October 1 to September 30). Accommodation and working facilities are provided rent-free. The fellowships are endowed in accordance with the high expectations placed in the applicants’ academic performance.
Proposals from groups of scholars who plan to pursue an international and interdisciplinary collaborative project in Greifswald are welcome, too.
Further information on the Alfried Krupp Fellows Programme can be found here; Information on the selection procedure may be downloaded here.
Proposals and applications should be submitted until 30th April 2012 to the academic director, Professor Dr. Bärbel Friedrich, Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald, D-17487 Greifswald.
Further information may be obtained from the academic manager of the Institute, Dr. Christian Suhm, and the assistant for the Fellowship program, Christin Klaus M. A.,
